Chengdu Chemical Engineering Research & Design Institute, established in 1958, has developed as an assembly of science, production and trade with the series of structures of scientific research, design, manufacture, engineering company, fine chemical industrial institute, water treatment technical center, phosphate industrial company and formed a system of completely development, design, manufacture and handling with the key department of phosphate chemicals and fine chemical industrial technologies.
The institute owns about 300 staffs totally, in which 72 persons and 134 persons obtained senior and medium professional posts, among them, 2 persons have shared special allowance of the state government, 2 persons had won the title of national inorganic salt specialists and another 1 has got the first grade registered architect.
The Institute is mainly undertaking the technical development of phosphate industrial chemicals, fine industrial chemicals and calcium carbide, dissolved acetylene serials products and won 178 scientific and research results, in which, 42 results were won golden metals in National Science Congress, or provincial and municipal scientific & technical progress. The technical cooperation has covered about 25 domestic provinces and regions, and even abroad. The institute has obtained some of the first, second and third different grade prizes of "Advanced Scientific & Technical Enterprise" by provincial municipal governments for some times.
From 70s the institute had began to transfer the researching results of phosphate industrial chemical to real productive power, and now has formed a productive plant with the capacity of 10,000 tons Phosphoric Acid and more than 20 kinds of phosphate products. Since 80s, the main products of Phosphoric Acid and Sodium Hexametaphosphate have won the title of Ministerial & Provincial Excellent Products for some times. The institute has got the right of import & export of its own products and technology approved by the Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation.
In the field of technical development of phosphate chemical, the institute is in advanced and higher level in China and was elected as the leader of the National Phosphate Advisors Group, and the chief of the National Phosphate Operators Cooperation Group, as the main editor of the Magazine of "Phosphate Industry".With the approval of higher authorities,"Phosphate Technical Development Center","Sichuan Provincial Calcium Carbide and Dissolved Acetylene Industry Association","No. 2 Chemical Product Quality Test Station of Sichuan Province"are all in the institute.
The institute owns large numbers of technical manpower, up-dated instruments and equipment, richly stored books, periodicals and technical documents. It is of the qualification as being a designer and engineering contractor of grade B in chemical industry. It can provide technical transference, technical service, engineering design, engineering contract, information investigation and research, consultation and product test, manpower training and can provide series of phosphate products such as Phosphoric Acid, Potassium Phosphates, Sodium Phosphates and Ammonium Phosphates, etc., with industry, food and special grades and other products, such as water treatment agents, phosphate chemicals and reagents, fire resistances and finishing auxiliaries for textile.
The institute'plant could supply Phosphoric Acid and Sodium Hexametaphosphate with the industrial, food and reagent grades, and other phosphates such as Sodium Dihydrogen Phosphate Anhydrous, Sodium Hydrougen Phosphate Anhydrous, Sodium Phosphate Anhydrous, Sodium Trimetaphosphate, etc. Among them, Phosphoric Acid and Sodium Hexametaphosphate have own titles of Fine Quality Product of Ministry of Chemical Industry and of Sichuan province, and Sodium Hexameaphosphate has enjoyed the honor of Free-testing from China Petrochemical Corporation for its excellent quality. This two products have been sold very well to all parts of China and some countries and regions of Asia, Europe and America, which widely used in water treatment, metallurgical industry, paper making, mining and food processing, and well received by all users. New product Ammonium Polyphosphate has won the Prize of Scientific and Technological Achievement from Committee of Science and Technology of Chengdu. In recent years, through the technique innovation, the institute's plant has an annual output of 10,000 tons with Phosphoric Acid and 5,000 tons with Sodium Hexametaphosphate.
